Workshops 2023 series presented by LAH

We had a great opening with artist Susi Soler that share her knowledge and Cuban heritage 










First Fast appliqué story telling workshop by Susi Soler happened today as part of our 2023 workshops series!

Workshop Description

Learn to create an appliqué art quilt reflecting an aspect of YOUR story. We will use the method of fusing appliqués to a pre-hemmed background. When finished, you will have a piece you can hang on a wall!


About Susi Soler

Is a Spanish-Cuban Scottish American. Her background includes being a retired journalist, OSU School of Journalism 1976, with a minor in art.  worked as a journalist, taught "gifted kids," taught art at The French School and was a gifted coordinator for several schools in the West.

Susi started painting in oils at 11, moved onto fiber arts with a minor in weaving. 


Currently she has a small business, Susiartquilts, She creates cloth memory quilts (not tee shirts) for families, using the clothing of deceased members.
